A web template is just what you would think it is, a pre-made already designed web site. Templates are often purchased and downloaded online. Once you have it, you import the template into your web page software, FrontPage, Dreamweaver or whatever else you may be using. Open your software, open the template and make whatever changes you like. The template you download is designed for the particular software you are using, another reason to use one of the major programs.

Some of these are very good and with a little looking and comparison shopping you should be able to find whatever you need, no matter your particular taste or type of business. With a little practice, you will be able to tweak everything to look exactly like you want. Some will look perfect right from the start and all you will need is to fill in the content. The more comfortable you get, the easier it will be to make everything look just right. No matter what, you can have a professional looking web site in very little time.
What are the advantages of using web templates?
Some folks have an artistic eye, some don't. If you need a little assistance putting everything together in a pleasing way, templates give you that help. Of course, if you look for a while, you'll find some very ugly templates, too. (Hint: Don't buy one!)
Even if you know what looks good and have some web design ability, templates save time. Find one close to what you need, or at least similar, and modify it until it looks perfect. Many web hosting companies offer templates as part of their package. If you purchase their hosting you can also use an online template right on their web site. You choose among a number of options, fill in your content and Presto! you are online with a very nice looking web.
